Democrats - The Me Party
In a move that made me chuckle, three Democrats voted with Republicans to seat Kevin Kramer as the new city council president in Louisville. This is the second time in the council's four year history it seated a member of the minority party as president.
The election of Kramer was facilitated by the current president Barbara Shanklin's refusal to step down after a less than stellar performance during her tenure. Instead she choose to run again causing three members of her party to split off and side with the Republicans. One must think, the Democrats must feel some shame watching a leader of their party put her personal needs ahead of the party's. But then again, what do you expect from the party which embraces moral relativism's selfishness.
