Democrats Select Candidate for Special Election
« Democrats - The Me Party | Main | Terrorists Really Want to Kill Us »In an amusing move over the weekend, the Democratic party leadership cast aside Virginia Woodward in favor of another candidate. In a 5-2 vote, party leadership selected Rep. Perry Clark as the Democratic candidate to fill the vacant 37th Senate seat in a special election this coming February.
What I find amusing is the fact that Virginia Woodward did their dirty work. She sued in court after her loss at the ballot box. She continued the battle throughout the following year until the court then ruled that the Republican, Dana Stephenson, could not hold the position. A move which denied the Republicans a seat in the senate they won at the ballot box.
What did she get for all of her hard underhanded work? Absolutely nothing! The party decide she was tainted and couldn't win the race. At least two things can be gleamed from this weekend's selection. There is some justice in the world. And secondly, that the Democratic party has no problems using someone and discarding them once they become useless in their eyes.
