Kentucky Democratic Crack Up Continues
« Louisville to End Derby Cruising. | Main | Bush State of the Union »If you think the Republicans in Kentucky might be in electoral trouble in the upcoming elections, have no fear. The Democratic party is just now getting on their feet financially and are still divided on how best to run the party. If you don't believe me, check out Ryan Alessi's Political Notebook.
Even with Fletcher's blunders, I don't think the Democratic party can mount a serious attempt to wrestle control back from the Republicans. The reality for the Democrats is that they are the liberal party. Unless the state party split's completely from the national party, they will always be connected to the liberal base of the party. As long as they continue to depend on the liberal base, they will continue to lose ground in this conservative state. If anything, I imagine Kentucky will continue to turn a darker shade of red.
