Faith And Presidential Elections

The last couple of days their have been a number of stories questioning Mitt Romney's Mormon faith and how it will play amoung the Republican conservative christians. In the process we get polls that state that only 37 percent said they would not vote for a Mormon for president.

Of course all of this is an attempt to undermine a leading Republican candidate.

We all know that faith bashing is nothing new for the MSM, but what I would love to see is a poll that asks voters if they would vote for an aethiest president. I wouldn't be suprised if the percentage of respondents who would not vote for an aetheist is much higher than a those against a mormon. Then we could have the wailing and gnashing of the teeth about how the athiest liberals in America are gong to have a hard time winning the next presidential election.

For some reason, I doubt we will see the aethiest question in any polls. It doesn't fit the agenda of the drive by media.

Problems With Funding the Louisville Arena

It appears that the Louisville Arena Authority is have a bit of a problem finding someone to spend the 40 million dollars to buy the naming rights to the new stadium. A move that prompted the chairman to announce that naming rights money is not needed to complete the project.

We have enough funding to be able to do it without the naming rights," authority Chairman Jim Host told the Rotary Club of Louisville at the Galt House. "So if we're going to sell naming rights we're going to get the right kind of price or we're not going to sell

Oops! I remember when this project was sold to the taxpayers, they told everyone that the business community was solidly behind the effort and they would have no problems selling things like the naming rights. Well, here we are a year later and they don't have any taker for the naming rights. No problem, the taxpayers can make up the difference.
