Good Riddance

It appears that Kentucky Republican Party Chairman Darrel Brock is going to be stepping down as chairman at the beginning of March to return to the private sector.

While me might have been a tremendous fund raiser during his tenure, the damage he did to the party far outweighed any money he brought into the coffers. Brock was one of the ring leaders during the early stages of the Fletcher administration who was pushing to get as many Republicans jobs as possible. It was his persistence in achieving his ends that stirred up our beloved AG to begin the "investigation" into the hiring "scandal".

Of course the who "investigation" was a joke, but the legal battle that many, including Brock, faced would prove to be very expensive. So, Fletcher stood up and took the political heat to pardon these guys. So how does Brock repay Fletcher? Instead of stepping down in shame as party chair, he decides to give Fletcher the finger and plotted with party insiders to remain chair. On top of that he joined forces with these political "insiders" who have repeatedly called Fletcher "unelectable". Et tu, Brute?

Now we head into the Gubernatorial election with a splintered party that looks destined to lose the election next fall. The only glimmer Republicans have left is the neolithic incompetence of their Democratic brethren. Thanks Chairman Brock!
