Happy Indoctrination Day
« When Did We Elect Dave As President? | Main | The Latest Media Attack on Bunning »
I want to wish everyone a happy Earth Indoctrination day. Why would I call it indocrtination day? Because the whole concept of Earth Day was developed as a way to brain washing children into becoming environmental activists. And eventually anti-capitalists. Don't believe me? Do you think it is coincidence that Earth Day falls on Lenin's birthday? Leading the way on this "revolutionary' day is the Courier Journal with their list of books to help kids with "eco-issues". Let's do a quick tour of a few of these books.
101 Ways You Can Help Save the Planet Before Your 12!

What's So Bad About Gasoline?
In the spirit of Indoctrination day, I have decided to release my own list of books that all children and young adults should read on Lenin's birthday:
101 Ways You Can Help Save the Planet Before Your 12!
It’s easy being green! Kids have enormous potential to affect change, and this enlightening book harnesses children’s natural energy, enthusiasm, optimism, and drive to make a difference in the world. Young eco-activists will feel empowered as they begin doing simple things such as cutting down on water use, starting a compost bin, and creating litter-free lunches. From these activities will grow even greater sensitivity to how they, their families, schools, and neighbors can have a positive impact on our planet. A list of websites encourages further exploration.Yeah! Let's turn our kids into eco-activists. Nothing like getting kids started with hating capitalism when they are young. Let's use their energy and natural enthusiasm to brain wash them about a "better way".
Rain Forests
Some photographs join the mostly hand-illustrated affair, and larger environmental concerns are addressed in such sections as Felling the Forests and back matter on endangered and extinct species. What will grab browsers are the 3-D cover and vivid drawings on thick, oversize pages, but what will keep them reading is a cumulative sense of the rain forest as a verdant universe nearly festering with lifeHey let's give kids lots of cool pictures while we subtly indoctrinate them to the evils of capitalism.
Earth Day
The kids in Mrs. Connor's class are celebrating Earth Day, and everyone has lots of ideas on how to save the Earth...except Emma. Emma is worried that her ideas are not good enough. With the help of her dad and Mrs. Connor, Emma learns that her small ideas can have big results!Let's try peer pressure. Everyone knows how to save the Earth and you should too. If not then you should be "worried" because you are probably an idiot.
Earth in the Hot Seat: Bulletins from a Warming World
Earth in the Hot Seat is a stunning, magazine-like presentation that celebrates the Earth and clearly explains the dangers and challenges of global warning. This beautiful volume is also a showcase for National Geographic Society’s environmental mission programs. Librarians and teachers will appreciate a book that explains the science of this global threat succinctly and visually, and is a call-to-arms to help the Earth. Readers will enjoy many fun features, from climate connections in global hotspots, to amazing before and after snapshots, to questionnaires answered by climate scientists and celebrities. When all else fails we can just make up facts about the dangers of global warming. I wonder if their is anything in this book about the fact that the Earth has been cooling over the last few years? Or the fact that the earth has previously been hotter than the peak of "global warming" yet we are still here. Something tells me that I won't find either of those facts in this books. Instead I will get a call to arms about the evils of capitalism and how it must be stopped before we all die.
What's So Bad About Gasoline?
Look around to see what uses oil—cars, airplanes, boats, factories, and countless other machines. The world is dependent on oil as its main source of energy. Although oil is plentiful right now, the supply will eventually run out, and even worse, burning oil is very damaging to the environment. What alternatives can help us use less oil and how can we protect the environment? Read and find out!Of course, we can't make it through indoctrination 101 without a good screed against the evils of oil companies. Even though oil is a major reason we enjoy a very high quality of life, it is evil because it is destroying our earth. Instead of oil, we must employ green technologies that will destroy jobs and lessen our quality of life. It doesn't matter that mom and dad don't have jobs as long as we save the environment.
