Happy Thanksgiving

Today is a day where we have the joy of being thankful for all that we have. I want to give thanks to God for my wonderful wife, fantastic family, and great friends. For a beautiful home, a sound mind and a healthy body. I am thankful that my company is still around nine years I started it. And I am thankful that I live in the greatest country in the history of this planet. May God continue to bless me and those I love.

Happy Thanksgiving! I hope it is as wonderful and fulfilling for you as it has been for me.

Elendil's Journal Passes Milestone

I started Elendil's Journal almost 5 years ago. In fact my first post was Wednesday September 8, 2004. Over the five years I have been writing, I feel blessed to have people who take the time to actually read my blog. In fact, I am proud to announce that two weeks ago on August 12th (while I was on vacation) I passed 1,000,000 mark for visitors to my journal. 

I want to take a moment and thank all of those people over the last five year that have stopped by and read my site. Knowing that people read Elendil's Journal provides me with the motivation to continuine writing. Again thank you for your patronage!

Out Last Week

The lack of blogging last week was brought to you by Lyme Disease. At this point I would have to say that I don't recommend contracting it. Not fun. Sigh.

Internet Is Back At Home

My Internet at home was fixed late last week and all is well. I can now resume with my regularly scheduled blogging. I want to thank Shelbyville Wireless for moving me up the priority list and pointing me towards a new tower. It is amazing how dependent one can become to the Internet. After the last couple weeks of pain, I wonder how the heck I survived before there was an Internet.

ShelbyBroadband Falls Apart

I haven't been able to blog recently because my Internet Wireless connection has failed to be usable since last Friday. I am getting packet loss of around 50% which makes it impossible to use the Internet for any task. I was told the problem was caused by interference from other users. I was also told they would be upgrading equipment in April. April? That means I am without network for the next couple of weeks which will continue to make blogging a challenge. Mainly because I do most of my posting in the evening. Hopefully they will get their act together sooner rather than later. But judging by the fact that their website is currently down, I don't have a lot of confidence.

Moving Servers

I have spent the holiday season moving Elendil's Journal from my company's server onto a new server dedicated to non n + 1 domains I control. In the process, I updated my DNS information. Since the TTL is 7 days, it will take a week for the DNS to fully propogate. I'll try to synchronize the sites during that time period.
