Weekend Catch Up
Friday was a swimming and biking day. I went to the pool in the AM and had a very good session. I was able to get my stroke count down to the 13-14 range when I really had good body rotation and felt my hands anchoring in the water. It was like I was effortlessly pulling myself through the water. My times are still relatively slow, but I felt I was making real progress on my stroke efficiency. I even had a guy comment on how good my technique was. So I must be doing something right.
That evening, my wife went out to the movies with some neighbors so I watched Dark Knight on BlueRay while biking. I must say that BlueRay movies rock! I did a 65 minute ride with a little stretching afterwards. I would have gone longer, but I was feeling tired for some reason.
Saturday morning I decided I wanted to get a 3rd run in this week to keep continuity. Since it was a recovery week, I decided on a zone 1 run. It was a mistake. The run went fine, but when I got done I was a lot more tired than I thought I would be for such moderate effort. Of course it effected my afternoon swim negatively. I never could get in a grove and felt tire throughout my time in the pool.
Now is it Sunday, and I am still a bit tired from yesterday which makes me a bit shy about getting on the bike since next week begins Base II. I'll probably get on the bike anyway, but I am worried that I didn't reduce my fatigue enough this week. I guess I'll find out in a three weeks!
